So if you read my article on Back to School and the blog on my shopping list you know that I did a decent amount of research on what and where to buy. For the most part I did follow through on most of my own advice. Here is the update:
The SchoolKidz.com site was super busy and slow so I abandoned that and ended up making a trip to Office Max. To my surprise it was clean, well stocked and not busy. I was able to get EVERYTHING on my school supply list relatively quickly and with no fuss. Last year that was not the case. Good Job Office Max for the improvement. This year I am really going to work with our Parent Teacher Group to do one of the pre-assembled school supplies in a box programs. Emily at Little Window Shoppe had some good resources for school supplies and planning in her recent blog and a link to the cutest lunchboxes for little kids.
My next great surprise was LL Bean. My daughter loves her wheelie back pack we got her in 3rd grade, so I thought I would get my son one now that he is entering 3rd grade. They last forever and they are just the right height for their age. So I ordered the one he wanted with his initials on it, along with a matching lunchbox. I little over board maybe, but it was going to be part of his birthday present. Later that day we got the official school supply list asking that students not bring wheelie back packs to school. I called LL Bean and they were so easy to work with. They immediately voided my order and issued a credit to my card. I will re order 2-3 flip top lunch boxes because I really liked the functional design of it.
